I'll overwhelm 'credible combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout fight which will be streamed live on Netflix.

Briton Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to build hype for the upcoming boxing match.

Former twice unified title holder Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Fighter's Mindset

"I'm going to break his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, declared.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Respectful Exchange

Despite these statements, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually recognized for his theatrics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul instead attacked ex Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at British opponent Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua chose not to talk badly about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

Nevertheless, the novice is still one of the sport's largest financial successes, consistently making huge financial rewards.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old predicted a KO victory in rounds four or five and stated he would derail the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul participated in the traditional confrontation, with their height and weight contrast evident, it drove home just how unlikely this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is actually going ahead.
